Cold temperatures and wind have limited wildlife sightings recently.  I did come upon this young fawn early one morning....

A yellow-bellied sapsucker is an uncommon find...

Starlings have gathered in large flocks...

Song sparrows are one of the most commonly sighted birds on my daily travels...

I photographed this fox in the early fall.  It is always a treat to find one that will wait for a photo...

Also, from the fall was this leaf pattern that reminded me of a smiley face...

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon.

  1. Nice shots Steve. The fawn looks poorly, sad to see. I had one hanging around the farm that looked thin back in December. It was always alone. Finally about the end of the month I found it dead lying along the edge of a field. Apparently it died of natural causes for at that point it had no visible injuries and nothing had fed on it. I always enjoy you blog, thanks for hanging in there!

  3. That fawn looks a little rough as if it's not eating well. Up here the habitat has been severely degraded by an artificially high deer population.
