Wolves - Throw Back Thursday

Last year, in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park, we spent some time watching a group of wolves hanging out near a herd of bison...

Since the wolves had recently made a kill, and were still feeding on it, they were not interested in the bison.  If you look closely you can make out seven wolves in this group...

Long distance views are the most common but, sometimes, fortune can favor the photographer and the wolves can appear closer...

These wolves were pursuing a group of elk in Grand Teton National Park.  When the elk crossed the road the wolves broke off the chase...

Pacific Creek Road provided several sightings...

There are many beautiful National Parks in the United States; but there is no better place to see wolves in the wild than the Greater Yellowstone Eco-system...

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon.
