Leaving Wyoming Through A Haze Of Smoke

We had to chose our route carefully when leaving Wyoming.  Wild fires were burning along all of the major roads and new ones were springing up almost daily.  We elected to head for Dubois, pronounced "Doo-Boys" if you are a local.  The smoke grew heavier with each passing mile...

Ranches and homes appeared to be in danger...

At one point we could see flames in the forest as we went by...

The smoke lingered for many miles, even after we were well past the site of the fires.  Wyoming is no place for sissies, but if you have what it takes to handle what mother nature hands out, well there is no other place like it that I have found...

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon.

  1. That's terrifying, Steve. Can you imagine your home being threatened like that?
