Belted Kingfisher

The belted kingfisher is a familiar bird to those who visit streams, lakes and rivers. They wait patiently for prey, usually small fish or crayfish, to appear then dive to seize their victim from above...




After stunning their prey into submission by repeatedly striking it against a branch, they swallow it whole, head first...
