Cardinal and First Fall Leaves

This has been a slow week for photography so I thought I would share the first autumn colors that I have seen.  I'm sure there will be more to follow soon...


This beautiful male Northern Cardinal was in a Japanese Maple tree in our yard.  These birds are quite widespread and it is the state bird of seven states, more than any other species: North Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Virginia...
