Wood Ducks, Mink and Belted Kingfisher...

Beautiful morning sunlight illuminated three wood ducks as they made their way past my location this morning...

Another familiar visitor is one of the mink that lives along this section of a small stream...

The repeated clicking of my shutter caused him to dive...

But he quickly emerged on a nearby log where he explored the root ball...

After a short time he left the roots through another route...

He made his way back to the water and disappeared down-stream...

The other morning visitor was this belted kingfisher that did not hang around for long when it realized that I was nearby...

As, always, thanks for visiting.

  1. A mink! How cool is that! I've never seen one except when one ran across the road in front of us many years ago. Thanks for the great photos, Steve.

  2. Sue, this is the first time I have had a mink cooperate and allow me to take it's photo. I have spent countless hours waiting for it to appear over the course of several weeks to get the images shown on the blog.

Rachelle, thanks for the comment. They are had to photograph because they are always moving.
