OTHER PREDATORS IN THE YELLOWSTONE REGION

While wolves and bears are probably the most often thought of predators in the Yellowstone area, there are other, smaller predators here such as coyotes...

This one was hunting for rodents in the grass...

Fox sightings have been plentiful this year...

This one, photographed by Cheryl, was stalking the sage brush near the hitching post turn out in the Lamar Valley...

Fortunately for the ground squirrel, this fox was not the best hunter on this day...

Another of the medium size predators is the badger.  This image is of two young ones waiting for dinner...

Finally, along comes mom with a ground squirrel...

Which caused a free for all, as the young scrambled for possession of the prize...

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon,

  1. Hello Steve,
I've seen and read a lot from Yellowstone. Such a variety of wildlife is unique. First bear and wolf then the coyote and fox, plus the badgers. Absolutely top

  2. Hi Frank,
I am sorry that you are not seeing the final two photos of the badgers. It may have something to do with band-with. No other viewers have mentioned a similar problem.
