First Look at 399 in 2019...399 and cubs… Trying to photograph grizzly bears is largely a matter of patience….and luck. Even though we know the areas where two grizzly families are often spotted, there is no guarantee of their presence when one is visiting. Luckily we were in the right place at the right time when Bear 399 and her two year old cubs made an appearance at Dump Road… 399 was wrestling and chasing one of the cubs… The other one was more interested in finding food… It was enjoyable to watch this family interact for a while. Most likely, 399 will kick her cubs out soon so that she can mate again… We encountered this red-tailed hawk on Gros Ventre Road…
