Also, in Nevada, were gambel's quail...
We located a golden eagle nest and saw both adults...
The abundance of fish filled streams assured many osprey sightings...
This red-tailed hawk cooperated by flying towards us instead of in the other direction...
In the town of Jackson, Wyoming there were two trumpeter swans with their young...
The next photo is of a swainson's hawk with chicks...
We saw three species of grouse including the greater-sage grouse...
The dusky grouse...
Most frequently seen on this trip, the ruffed grouse...
At sunset the occasional short-eared owl could be seen hunting...
The Snake River held this golden-eye duck...
This great blue heron...
And this white pelican...
In Yellowstone we found a raven's nest...
In the same vicinity we saw our first clark's nutcracker...
There was an uncommonly large number of sandhill cranes to be seen...
Cinnamon teal on the Madison River...
Eared grebes on a small lake...
Yellow-headed blackbird...
I am not certain of the species of the bird in the next photo. I suspect that it may be a warbling vireo...
Next is my first sighting of a black-headed grosbeak...
An immature bald eagle at Jackson Lake...
Hairy woodpecker...
A western bluebird...
Tree swallow...
A northern flicker (red-shafted)...
Western Meadowlark...

Ruddy duck...
Swainson's hawk...
The last photo is of a young robin waiting out a July snowstorm...
