Grizzly Bear Swimming Hole -GTNP

Today was the hottest we have experienced since our arrival in early May.  The temperature was probably in the mid 80s, enough to keep wildlife activity at a minimum.  One smart mom knew how to beat the heat; head for the local grizzly swimming hole...

399 took the plunge first, then looked back to make sure her cub, Snowy, was following...

It looked like the old bear was just happy to feel the cooling waters effects...

Watching her enjoy her swim reminded me of the many images I have seen of the great bears of
Alaska fishing for salmon...

What use is a swimming hole if one can't have a little rough house water fun?...

Finally, Snowy must have said "enough already"...

Once back to land 399 wasted no time scampering into the forest...

Leaving little Snowy to play catch-up...

399 and Snowy were last seen disappearing into the forest.

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon.
