Mergansers & Green Heron

While watching my favorite stream at sunrise, this unusually large flock of female Common Mergansers came swimming past.  Even though we were only a few yards apart they never showed the slightest awareness of my presence...





A short time after their departure this Green Heron landed on the sand bar that the mergansers had just vacated...
