ROAD TRIP TO WYOMING...BIRDS ALONG THE WAY

On a recent trip we tried to observe birds in the places that we stopped, but before we even left home the first photo is of an Eastern Towhee that was in our yard...

The first overnight stay was in Dillon State Park in Ohio. There we found a Kentucky Warbler...

and a Warbling Vireo...

and a Northern Parula...

and an American Crow...

The next day we stopped in eastern Nebraska and found a Yellow Warbler singing cheerfully...

and we had a glimpse of an American Redstart...

We also saw a pair of Orchard Orioles...

The female Orchard Oriole was shier than the male...

An American Robin was nesting in the same tree as the orioles...

A Western Kingbird was there also...

The next evening found us in North Platte, Nebraska where we saw a pair of Baltimore Orioles...

Cheryl remarked about how different the male and female appeared...

A Common Grackle stopped for a short visit...

Once in Wyoming we were hosted by a couple who called their place the "Painted Cow"...

While there we observed a bashful moose which I was too slow to get the desired photo of...

A short while later we found a different moose that would not leave the security of the willows...

We also saw two Swainson's Hawks...

The dreary weather didn't stop these Long-billed Curlews from making an appearance...

Cheryl managed this image of an American Woodcock...

As we were preparing to leave, a herd of cattle braved the pending storm...

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon.
