We arrived at the head of the Hayden Valley just as this
bison bull was finishing his swim across…
Even when the rivers are high, bison of all ages make the
crossings as a routine matter…
Almost as soon as the lone bull crossed I saw two young
bulls running for the crossing…
When they reached the river, instead of plunging in, they
whirled and began sparring…
Finally, one of them remembered why they were at the
crossing in the first place…
After recuperating from their swim, both of the young bulls
wandered off in the direction that the larger bison had gone…
Looks like they enjoyed their bath!
