Return Of The Beaver

After Hurricane Sandy the usual area where I have observed beavers for the last three years has been devoid of them.  I still visit it often because there are mink and muskrats that frequent the same area but the beaver slides have gone unused.  A few days ago I was glad to see a large beaver entering one of the bank dens.  There is also the beginning of a food cache, which I hope is a sign that a new litter of beaver kits will soon emerge.  Following are some of the photos that I took on my most recent visit.  I hope there will be more to follow...
