Grizzly family may have wandered out of the park and into trouble...

There is an unconfirmed report that these three grizzly bears have wandered out of Yellowstone National Park and were trapped and euthanized by the Montana Fish and Wildlife Department.  If true, this would be an event that defies reason.  The sow (adult female grizzly) has raised numerous cubs on Mount Washburn.  She has become a celebrity of sorts among the tourists and employees of the park.  There currently is a wildfire raging nearby and perhaps that caused her to take her offspring and leave the park.  They reportedly killed and ate 3 chickens owned by a resident of Montana.  I hope we learn that either (1) the bears that were euthanized are not the Mt Washburn group or, (2) that the report is incorrect and the bears have been relocated and not euthanized.  In the meantime, here are some photos that I took during our June visit to the area.  If you are interested in further information you might want to visit this link to a Y-Net discussion on the subject. http://forums.yellowstone.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8106
