If successful, they often take their catch to a tree limb or other perch before eating...
The next image is of a young bird that is taking refuge from crows which were harassing it...
If lucky enough to find an active nest, it is interesting to observe the chicks...
These birds were almost ready to fledge, so short test flights were in order...
In just a few days they be seeking food on their own...
But still under the watchful eye of an adult...

These are wonderful photos, Steve. We have a hawk pair that live here, call our place their territory I guess. I have always assumed they were redtails, but now I'm not sure. And they're always too far away to get a closer look.
