RAPTORS OF FREDERICK COUNTY, MD


Now is a good time to see raptors like this red-shouldered hawk above and below...





One of my local favorites is the diminutive kestrel...




Red-tailed hawks, like this one guarding a road killed racoon, are plentiful...







The smaller coopers hawk...




One that I don't see very often is the broad-winged hawk...

I am always delighted when a great horned owl allows me to obtain a photo...
