The crowd was even thicker on the lower deck near the turbine discharge...
Don't be intimidated by the number of people if you go, one can always find a spot to stand. The birds circle overhead in random fashion and everyone can get in on the action.
When the turbines shut down the river looked more like a lake than the great Chesapeake tributary that it is. Only a few eagles flew by during our stay...
One decided to land in the trees behind the parking lot and permitted me to obtain a few photos...
For those of us old enough to remember when spotting an eagle was a rare and noteworthy event even a slow day at Conowingo Dam is a privilege to be cherished.
