Deer In The Snow

Yesterday, and today, I visited the Monocacy National Battlefield to see how the deer were faring in the recent snow...

A young buck was curious about the sound of my shutter...

The snow is not very deep and this fawn has no trouble pawing her way to the grass...

Today, the snow was falling during my visit, and these deer alternated between eating and grooming each other...

The next photo is of the Worthington Farm House.  The owners watched the battle of the Monocacy from the windows in the cellar...

Two solitary trees in the field leading to the house...

The snow fell heavily, but the warm temperatures insured it would not last long.
