Sharing My Week In Photos

This has been a difficult week for wildlife photography.  Thank goodness for birds is all I can say.  This morning I photographed this Brown Thrasher, a species that is common in our area, but one that I have found to be skittish and camera shy...

I also photographed one of the resident Black Vultures at the Catoctin Creek Park and Nature Center...

Earlier in the morning I found this spike buck Whitetail Deer feeding in a field of wheat and weeds...

 

This Indigo Bunting caught my eye when it landed on a board fence.  If you look closely you can see an ant on its' tail...

 

I think the ants attracted this Starling...

In this photo you can see that it has a beak full of them...

This is a different spike buck feeding in a field of alfalfa in the early morning light...

A few days ago, while watching a favorite small creek, I saw this large muskrat swimming upstream...

When he came to a log obstacle he climbed over it instead of  swimming around...

In the same area, this Belted Kingfisher was searching for a meal...

The day before I visited the Lilypons Water Gardens...

Lilypons supports a wide variety of birds, such as this Barn Swallow, gathering nest material...

 

This brilliant Indigo Bunting was also at Lilypons...

 

A rusted fence post is a favorite perch for Tree Swallows...

This beautiful doe was eating clover not far from the road...

It has been about ten days since I last saw the Red Fox kits that I have been photographing.  I will try a few more times to find them but they have probably outgrown the den. Here is the last photo I took of one of them...
