Every time I pass this tree I look expectantly to see some type of critter in one of the many holes in the trunk. It looks like a place where flying squirrels or birds might seek shelter but, until today, I was never rewarded for my diligence. This morning I noticed that one of the holes looked a little different, and upon closer inspection I was able to identify a screech owl peeking out. He was probably napping after a night of hunting...
This doe emerged from some woods and hurried across a frosty field. I guess she thought she was late for the party...
I am so jealous of your little owl. I spen a lot of time outside, but owls have eluded me. I must not be looking in the right places.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tammy. They do not often come my way either. I only have one decent shot of a Barred Owl, and one of a Great Horned Owl, and now this little Screech Owl.
ReplyDeleteThe owl is lovely!!!you were really lucky to spot it!!!
ReplyDeleteI always consider myself lucky when I am able to photograph birds and animals not commonly seen. Thanks for your comment.
