We went to Amherst one day ahead of schedule just to look around and get to know the area. We were glad that we did because we were able to get Kyle moved into his dorm before the storm arrived. From now on the Class of 2015 will always be the "Class of Hurricane Irene" in my mind. Here are a couple of pics, taken through the windshield, while we were driving across New York state. Our route south was closed by flooded highways so we had a major detour to find an open road to get home...
