Feast or Famine

This week has provided some photography opportunities, including this female Whitetail Deer, wearing a collar and radio transmitter in Shenandoah National Park...



Also, in the park, was this chipmunk eating lichen from a boulder...



 
There were some Canada Goose goslings at the Lilypons this week...
 
 
This one seems to be wondering if that flower would be good to eat...

 
Yes, that's what it was thinking...
 

An identification for this Chipping Sparrow had me stumped  because I had never seen one with so much grey coloration...


I have been watching this nest for a while and I finally found a Red-tailed Hawk on it...




A Scarlet Tanager added a splash of color to the landscape...

 
 
The next two photos are of the first Wood Thrush I have encountered this year...

 


Almost as soon as the thrush, left this female Hairy Woodpecker came into view...

  1. Lovely Pictures. We live in the nature and have birds,hares, hogs, foxes, roes and moose aroung us.
    But not Always we see them.
