The consensus among long-time elk photographers is that the Pennsylvania Game Commission's elk management leaves much to be desired as the older breeding bulls are consistently killed during the open season and an unnaturally low pregnancy rate is the result. There appears to be a lot of unoccupied habitat and the PGC seems intent on keeping the population from expanding into that unoccupied habitat or increasing.

You got some really good photos of the elk; unfortunately the habituated elk are not likely to survive hunting season.Woody Meristemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17042498252608254901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6135737109088603198.post-86285174055671497182018-10-10T06:42:16.884-04:002018-10-10T06:42:16.884-04:00Beautiful brother.Beautiful brother.mitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18060000231821352392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6135737109088603198.post-56883586043677513362018-10-09T18:46:10.981-04:002018-10-09T18:46:10.981-04:00Great shots!Great shots!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12374126630225487748noreply@blogger.com
