Road Trip To Wyoming

The last few days of April saw my wife and daughter heading for the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming.  My daughter, Sarah, would be starting a new job in Grand Teton National Park...

The first evening found them going around Chicago and a stop at the Willis Tower seemed to be in order to stretch their legs and take in the view...

Another long day of driving found them in Wall, South Dakota; just a few short miles from Badlands National Park...

Note the Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep in the lower right of the next photo...

A closer view of one of the big horn sheep...

Leaving the Badlands the route leads through the Black Hills, the Wind River Valley...

and then the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming...

Finally, upon arriving in Jackson Hole, wildlife became more and more visible.  Here a "spike" elk, that has not lost his antlers yet, stands with an older bull that is growing his new ones...

A bull moose is browsing near the road...

A bull bison lounges within sight of the Grand Tetons in Jackson Hole...

In the next photo, a bull moose is feeding ...

Magpies are common throughout the region...

Saving the best for last, Sarah and her mom had an opportunity to view and photograph Grizzly Bear 399 and two of her cubs...

If you are not familiar with the long story of Grizzly 399 I would encourage you to Google her for some interesting reading...

I was relieved when the trip was completed safely and I look forward to more photographs from Sarah to share with you.

Thanks for visiting, be well, and come back soon.
