Raccoon, The Masked Bandit...
I recently observed this raccoon as it looked for a meal along the banks of a small stream. In addition to offering an opportunity to take some photos, it also reminded me of a young raccoon that I briefly had as a pet while growing up. The local game warden was not as tolerant as my parents when I brought home young wild animals. He visited our house on several occasions to remove the critters that I "rescued". Thankfully, today I know better and do not encourage or supprt keeping wild animals as pets.
Raccoons are commonly reffered to as masked bandits, and for good reason. They can get into just about anything. They can open doors, pull out drawers, open fish traps and coolers. Thanks to their nimble hands, determination, and natural curiosity they are notorious for making a mess when searching for food.
I hope you enjoy the photos...
Preciosas tomas estas que nos traes hoy, con el mapache posando casi al borde del agua y reflejándose en ella. Me encantan.
