Slimy Swamp Monster And Other Critters...

While visiting the algae covered pond that has been so productive for me lately I heard a mysterious sucking sound coming from the water.  Upon close observation I spotted this prehistoric looking head emerging from beneath the ooze...



It was a snapping turtle that appeared to be eating the algae from the surface. 

After a short wait a green heron arrived and began fishing...



I moved to a small stream to see what was visible and spotted this great blue heron...



A beaver came swimming by...


and this muskrat kept partially hidden while eating tender plants...


A little later I encountered this doe and her fawns...




On the way home I came across this turkey and her poults in a mowed hay field...
