waiting for a beaver to make an appearance.
It wasn’t too long before an adult swam upstream…
and
soon returned with leafy branch to feed its hungry brood waiting in the den…
Only a short distance from the first pictures this
flower caught my eye…

I moved to another location hoping to glimpse a coyote but
instead I saw these Whitetail Deer fawns…
And their mother…
A turkey gobbler came out of the wet weeds and vigorously
shook the water off his feathers…
As I continued to wait a Downy Woodpecker began looking for
insects just overhead…
She was soon joined by this White-breasted Nuthatch…
This small family of Wood Ducks climbed onto a log to preen
and rest for a while…
When heading to another spot to look for wildlife I watched
this Cottontail Rabbit get comfy for a nap…

WOW - you are so lucky be able to get in the outdoors and see nature and take such beautiful photos. You really have a God given talent! My husband and I can't get out and see what you see since we live in the city. I'm his caregiver and we are not able to get to the woods to enjoy nature like this. I know nature is all around us but you have a much better advantage going to the woods. This is the second best thing to being there. Keep them coming! :)
ReplyDeleteNice post Steve. The series on the whitetail I like a lot. I also like the second flower shot better than the first. I'm thinking the bunny was needing a cool place to rest and relax. Nice photos. Looks like you had a great day seeking your wildlife quarry and a very successful one at that.
