Early Morning Excursions Make The Days Bearable...

Early morning outings have made the days much more tolerable during the recent heat wave. Heavy fog, with sunshine breaking through, produced these photos…




 
This morning I watched a beaver leave it’s den two or three times. Sometimes going upstream…


other times downstream…


Once, it returned with a tender branch…


Perhaps it is feeding a litter of young? The thought of seeing small ones is one thing that keeps me going back.

The carp are still spawning and putting on colorful mating demonstrations…





This Great Blue Heron patiently waits for an unsuspecting victim to come along…
